What is Corneotherapy
and why is it different?
Corneotherapy is a science, based on a deep understanding of the skin.
As a Corneotherapist my priority is to repair and maintain the outermost layer of your skin. This will improve how it functions and ultimately improve how it looks, all without the need for harsh ingredients or interventions.
I use only the best ingredients and proven results-driven technology that protects and strengthens the skin’s barrier.
The Consultation is a Corneotherapists ‘super power’ - it enables me to address the causes not just treat the symptoms - so during your first appointment I ask lots of questions, all with the aim of understanding as much as possible about you and your skin.
“A Corneotherapist works with the skin, using only ingredients it recognises, to maintain a strong and resilient barrier, because if the 'roof' is compromised, everything beneath it is at risk.”

Corneotherapy is the intelligent way to care for skin.
It was first defined by the American dermatologist Professor A. M. Kligman in the mid 1960’s who discovered that the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin we can touch and feel) plays a significant role in skin health.
The stratum corneum is part of out a natural ‘shield’, we like to refer to it as the ‘roof’. When it functions properly, it prevents micro-organisms from entering and reduces water loss. Unfortunately, many skincare products and practices attack or remove this protective layer leading to many conditions we are very familiar with such as sensitivity, dryness, inflammation and lots of other skin issues.
As Corneotherapists we see the skin as a living, breathing organ with an immune system and complex defence mechanisms, so my goal is to support these functions, not impair them.
